I stumbled upon a platform that feels like it was made just for me, Strudel.cc. It’s a browser-based live coding environment that lets you create music by writing code in real time. For someone like me, who is equally passionate about programming and music, it’s the perfect fusion of both worlds.
What I instantly loved about Strudel.cc
What makes Strudel.cc so exciting is the way it turns code into sound instantly. Every line you write isn’t just text; it is rhythm, melody, noise, and texture. It is endlessly creative, but also deeply logical. I find it fascinating.
I also see Strudel.cc as more than just a personal creative tool. I think it could be an incredible STEM resource, especially for kids. My children already love music, and I know how important it is to spark their curiosity early. With Strudel, they can experiment, play, and see the direct connection between the code they write and the music they hear. It’s a hands-on, engaging way to show that coding isn’t just about screens and numbers.
This is something I will be integrating into Noise 4 Tots.
For me, Strudel.cc is not just another fun toy or music tool (it is that too). It’s a reminder that the boundaries between art and science are often much thinner than we think and that sometimes, learning can be as joyful as creating your favorite song.

Going Forward
I have been meaning to set up a Deformat GitHub, mainly for posting the code for the tracker I am writing. But this gives me another reason.
